Zach is an actor and teacher with over twenty years of experience in theatre, musical theatre, and improvisation, as well as other types of performance including clowning and stage combat. His talent was recognized at the age of 17 by Keith Johnstone (a founding father of improvisation, and the author of Impro and Impro for Storytellers), and Keith has been his friend and mentor ever since. Zach has returned to Calgary often over the years to study with Keith at the Loose Moose Theatre Company.
From 1998 - 2008, he trained in Chicago with many teachers, including Charna Halpern at Improv Olympic and Sheldon Patinkin at Columbia College Chicago. He graduated with a degree in acting from Columbia in 2003. He moved to Los Angeles in 2008, and in 2014 he directed his first feature-length film, "Bobbi & Gill," which he was inspired to write by two students he met while teaching at Atlanta Workshop Players. Zach is always on the lookout for talented people with whom to collaborate. |
